Celebrating Jukeboxes

Playlist A

Over in the states, Touchtunes declared the day before the US holiday of Thanksgiving to be their National Jukebox day. The day was established in 2017. Despite Jukebox Day being nice publicity day for Touchtunes, I do love a good social with friends around a Jukebox/playlist.

Jukeboxes have been a staple diet of the American diner and bar scene over the last century. My experiences of Jukeboxes in Dublin were through the Hideout, the Plex, Eddie Rockets and various older pubs dotted around the city. It was always good to share a few favourite tunes with a few mates as you played pool, chatted away or grabbed food. It was also good to spoof other patrons of the establishment with some of the most bizarre songs you could find on the Jukebox.

Today I’ve put together two different playlists on YouTube for listening to. If I owned a Jukebox, these tunes would definitely be on them. Hope you enjoy!!
